But, as mentioned, today we are focussing on Christmas. To be more specific, you are about to learn how to craft Christmas bells in 3 different variants! The shape of a bell is itself very similar to the coffee capsules, therefore you won’t need to work on the capsule too much: no need to be a DIY pro for these projects!
For all three of these projects, here’s what you are going to need:
- Used Nespresso compatible capsules by Caffè Aiello
- A few sharpies (fine tip ones)
- Golden thread (or you pick your favourite Christmas colour!)
- A few already-made, small-sized bows
- Beads
- Scissors
- Hot or PVA glue
Bell-placeholder for your Christmas table
Bells are no doubt one of the most recurrent symbols for Christmas. That’s why we think that they make a perfect placeholder!
Here’s what you need to do:
- Perforate the top of a capsule
- Take a piece of thread and let it pass through the small hole you just made. Make a not on the top of the capsule to make it stay in place
- On the thread section that is underneath the capsules, place a bead and make a knot to stop it from falling out.
- Now it’s creativity time: use the glue, the beads, the bows and decorate your bell as you prefer! Remember: personalization in what’s make DIY projects so unique so make sure there won’t be 2 bells that look the same!
- Using a sharpie write on each bell the name of one of your guests
And now it’s time to set the table!
Decorative Christmas bells pair
We know you bought very unique gifts are you are going to impress your guests. But how if you started from the gift wrapping? Here’s how you can decorate each gift wrapping using the bell decoration!
How to do that:
- First of all. make two bells just like you did for the placeholders
- Cut a piece of thread and make it go through both he holes on the top of your bells. Pull it as tight as you need to make the two bells stick together in a very traditional pair of Christmas bells
- On the upper section, where the two bells touch, glue on a small bow
- Now with another piece of thread fix a loop on the top of the decoration so you can place it on the ribbon of a gift
No gift wrapping will be more original than yours!
Christmas tree decoration: bells garland
How you could think we would have left Christmas tree decorations out? Of course, you can use single bells or pairs of bells to decorate your tree, but let us suggest here a third variant: bells garlands! It’s very easy but very effective.
Here’s how to proceed:
- Make a few bells the way you learn at the beginning – remember: the bigger your tree, the longer your garland must be!
- Put two holes on the upper sides of each bell, one facing the other
- Take a piece of thread – as long as it’s needed for your tree size – and make it go through every couple of holes in each bell.
- You can place it on your tree now, starting from the bottom and working upwards. Place the garland as a spiral around your tree.
You can also make a garland where you alternate 1 bell and 1 bow…or anything your creativity may suggest!
This kind of decoration looks great on stairs’ handrails as well!
