If you are quite the baker in your family, you must be familiar with tarts in general. Have you ever tried to bake a coffee tart tough? Well you are about to! Cinnamon can add a nice touch to it, and it’ll make it perfect to be paired to hot beverages like coffee, latte or even a beautiful foamy cappuccino.
Thanks to its versatility this tart can be a perfect breakfast, a nice dessert, or an afternoon sweet snack. Read on for the recipe! If you have baked tarts before, the process is quite classic and you won’t have any difficult at all with this one. If you have no experience, don’t worry: follow the steps and you’ll find to be quite easy as well!
Ingredients you will need
Dough ingredients:
- 1 ¾ cup flour
- ½ cup of sugar
- 1/3 cup of butter
- 1 egg + 1 egg yolk
- A tsp of powdered coffee
- Pinch of salt
Filling ingredients
- 3 espresso shots
- ½ cup sugar
- 4 egg yolks
- ½ cup flour
- ¾ cup milk
Topping ingredients
- Cinnamon powder

The method
- Whisk the butter together with the sugar
- Add in the eggs and the flour little by little while constantly mixing
- Add the powdered coffee and the salt
- Once the dough is ready, cover it and let it rest in the fridge for 30 mts
- Now it’s the filling time: whisk together the sugar and the egg to get a fluffy mixture
- Pour in the coffee and the milk little bu little
- Add the flour (previously sifted) and mix all together.
- Pour the everything in a saucepan and cook at a low heat for 5 minutes
- Grease the cake mould, roll out the dough (leave a little piece aside for later decorations) and place it in the mould. Use a fork to make small holes all over the dough in the mould.
- Pour the cream in it and spread it evenly
- With the dough you save make thin stripes and decorate the top of the tart with a net-like pattern.
- Pre-heat the oven and bake the tart at 350F for 30 to 40 minutes
- Once ready and cooled down, sprinkle some cinnamon on it!
And now, enjoy! Your tart will last in the fridge for a few days!
